  • Song of the Builders

    On a summer morning
    I sat down
    on a hillside
    to think about God--
    a worthy pastime
    Near me, I saw
    a single cricket;
    it was moving the grains of the hillside
    this way and that way
    How great was its energy
    how humble its effort
    Let us hope
    it will always be like this
    each of us going on
    in our inexplicable ways
    building the universe.

Stimulus Package

stimulusCheck out the first ad in a new breastfeeding campaign. 

The purpose of this campaign is to expose the “booby traps” that undermine breastfeeding (like less than 3% of maternity centers are designated baby-friendly,  less than 12% of women meet the AAP minimum standard of exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, and there is limited access to qualified lactation consultants).

    Cool! I was so excited to see an ad on tv by medela not long ago that shamelessly promoted the fact that breastfeeding is best! I think it was on the Discovery Health channel. I sure hope we will see more and more of these…
