I’ll let you in on a little secret about me…shhhhh…don’t tell…I don’t really go to any health providers on a regular basis. There. It is out. I don’t see a chiropractor, I rarely, rarely go to an MD, I don’t get regular massage therapy, and it has been way too long since I saw Mr. Dentist. (I would absolutely get regular acupuncture treatments if I could afford it though!). So, when I went to see Cara Davis for some chiropractic care after a long birth, I was relieved that she called me “simple.” I like that better than “boring.” I have no dramatic stories of body trauma and no car accidents to report. My husband is busy enough in that area for the both of us.
I was very happy with Cara’s work. She is so gentle! And I love her sweet spirit. She also shares a passion for pregnant and postpartum moms. So we hit it off right from the start. I’ve had a few friends who have taken their little ones to her and were amazed at how low-key and calm the visits were. If you’re seeking a chiropractor, I highly recommend Cara.
I wish I was as boring and simple as you, Julie!
But I will second that Dr. Cara is GREAT! She’s helped my whole family. In fact, just this morning I attempted to get adjusted with Abraham in tow. Are you surprised that I had to leave with a crying baby and a still misaligned back? Dr. Cara was so sweet and accomodating, and once I finally DO get to have her adjust me, all will be well again (as far as my back goes).
Julie,
You are sweet as anything! I look forward to getting to know you better in the future…and if and when I get pregnant one day, I’ve got dibs on you as my doula! I’m already reserving you 🙂
Abby,
Thanks for the kind words! I always enjoy seeing you guys…you have a beautiful family…whether laughing or crying, I adore Abe…so neat to have been part of your pregnancy. We’ll get you squared away very soon and hopefully Abraham will be smiling when he leaves!
Ahem. Abby. What I would like to know is why you didn’t leave Abraham with me while you saw Cara? Is it because I have a bony shoulder? Tell me the truth.
yes, you have boney shoulders and you won’t do handstands.
Seriously? You would do regular accupuncture? so I take it you’re no long an accupuncture virgin…must’ve been a positive experience. I didn’t care for mine, but I might be willing to try it again under different circumstances and with a different person. Never done the chiropractic thing…a little scared of that. missed seeing you at the babywearing thing…j had to work late and it was a long day for me as well. wish I could totally go to the cloth diapering things, but I have mom to mom group at the same time every wednesday. The discipline class looked fantastic too, but I just couldn’t commit to one more thing! Mercy is doing much better these days anyway. Doing the Love and Logic “method/experiments”.
Yep…virginity gone. It was wonderful! I believe I described it as “spiritual orgasm.”
But, see, I wasn’t 9 months preggers with someone sticking needles in, right? I was just getting a feel-good treatment. And really–I was riding on a no-anxiety high for 3 or 4 days afterwards.
And Kelly, the PD Guru, is fantastic. If you have some time to spare, she offers a round of classes every month.
